    Product Description

A must have for any landscape! With gracefully weeping branches, these Japanese Cherry trees are wonderful urban trees. As small deciduous trees that at maturity grow to be about 15 feet in height with a 25 foot spread, they do well in full sun and moist, but well drained, soil. It is considered one of the most spectacular of flowering temperate trees in cultivation today. It's habit of thousands of simultaneously opening showy pink-white blossoms on bare branches is a sight to behold. Without a doubt this tree's greatest feature are its lovely pale pink to white blossoms which are borne in generous clusters all along its bare branches. They bloom pale pink and turn to white at maturity. In 1912, Japan gifted 500 Weeping Yoshino Cherry trees to first lady Helen Herron Taft, and they were planted in Washington, D.C., making a recognizable display that D.C. is known for to this day. Distinct umbrella shape, cascading to the ground to form a mound; Dark green foliage in the spring and summer, then turning yellow, orange, yellow-green, and bronze in the fall. Moderate growth rate. Drought, heat and humidity once established. Loves full sun. Mature Size (H x W): 15' X 25'. Images of Mature tree. Tip: Potted dormant perennials can be kept in a well-lit cool/cold area (ie. Garage, shed, even in a protected area outdoors) until ready for spring planting. Do not allow them to completely dry out. In winter, plants will be shipped dormant.
